The Tree of Life Web Project is a collection of information about biodiversity compiled collaboratively by hundreds of expert and amateur contributors. Its goal is to contain a page with pictures, text, and other information for every species and each group of organisms, living or extinct.

The Royal Society publishes new research. It also develops, recognizes, and celebrates professional capabilities. They bring people together to spark new ideas and new partnerships.

PubChem is an open chemistry database at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). PubChem mostly contains small molecules, but also larger molecules such as nucleotides, carbohydrates, lipids, peptides, and chemically-modified macromolecules. We collect information on chemical structures, identifiers, chemical and physical properties, biological activities, patents, health, safety, toxicity data, and many others.

The Compendium is popularly referred to as the "Gold Book", in recognition of the contribution of the late Victor Gold, who initiated work on the first edition. It is one of the IUPAC "Color Books" series on chemical nomenclature, terminology, symbols, and units (see the list of source documents). It collects together terminology definitions from IUPAC recommendations already published in Pure and Applied Chemistry and in the other Color Books.
