All current LACCD students, faculty, and staff can enjoy a free New York Times digital subscription!

Access Duration

• Students: Your subscription stays active until December of your graduation year (entered during sign-up).
• Faculty & Staff: Your subscription lasts for up to four years from the date you activate it.

Creating a New Account Already have an Account? Accessing NYT Apps What's Included?

If you don't already have a New York Times account, follow these steps to create a new account:

1. Open nytimes.com in your browser
2. Click Log In at the top right
3. Choose Continue with work or school single sign-on
4. Enter your LACCD email address. 
5. Sign in with your LACCD Portal/SIS account credentials.

Each time you need to log in via the web, choose “Continue with work or school single sign-on” from the login screen. For app access, see instructions below.

You can keep your existing New York Times account and still get full access for free! This way, all your subscriptions—like Cooking or Games—stay in one place. If you currently have a paid account, first cancel your paid subscription, then follow these steps:

1. Log in to your existing New York Times account using your current login method (e.g., email/password or social login).
2. From the homepage, go to Account > Account Settings > Email and Settings.
3. Under Connected Accounts, click Connect next to Work or School.
4. Enter your LACCD email address and follow the prompts.

After activating your NYTimes.com account, you can download the apps with these links:

• New York Times App
• New York Times Audio App for iOS

Note: SSO login via mobile apps is not yet supported. After activation, you can use a NYT connected email/password or social login. If you have not yet created a NYT-specific password follow these instructions.

1. After following the instructions above to log in from your web browser, from the NYT homepage select Account > Account settings
2. Under Account Information > Password, click Update
3. Select Forgot password
4. You will receive a code via email. Enter the code and set a secure password
5. Go to the app on your mobile device and log in using your email address and the new password
