Canvas and the Library

Demonstrations on how to embed different library resources into Canvas

Permalinks

Permalinks for content from Pierce Library's databases will need to start with the library's proxy address: https://login.lapc.idm.oclc.org/login?url= to work correctly from off campus. For some of the databases, you will need to add the proxy address before the URL.

For example:

https://login.lapc.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0887618516301980

  • Ebsco - After clicking on the title of an article, you will be in the item record. Under Tools, which is on the right hand side of the screen, select "Permalink". Copy and paste the URL that is given.

  • Gale - Click the "Get Link" icon and copy the displayed link.

  • JSTOR - After clicking on the title of an article, look for the "Stable URL" which is up towards the top of the screen. You will need to add the library's proxy address to the beginning of that stable URL.

  • Proquest  - Click the "Copy URL" icon and copy the displayed link.

  • Science Direct - Add the library's proxy information (above in red) to the URL at the top of the page.
